Theatre auditions are open to all students–regardless of your academic major or prior experience.

I like working backstage

Check out volunteer opportunities with University Theatre in scene shops, costumes, lighting, sound and backstage crew. Some paid jobs are also available for ushers and other crew.

NC State LIVE brings in extraordinary performances from around the world, and offers unique opportunities for students to learn from and interact with the artists.

I want to make things

Visit the Crafts Center to take non-credit courses and workshops in pottery, woodworking, jewelry, metals–all in a welcoming, informal learning environment.

I want to see visual art

The Gregg Museum of Art & Design offers multiple exhibitions each year featuring items from its permanent collection of more than 50,000 objects, as well as exhibitions from a particular artist or thematic concept.

At NC State, public art is intentionally designed for both indoor and outdoor environments — from libraries and lounges, to plazas, walkways, and gardens. Each work is sited to invite interaction, encourage reflection, and enrich the rhythm of daily life.

Art + Science Projects

When integrated into scientific research, problem solving and project ideation, art can play a transformative role in co-creating solutions and broadening the perspective of all participants. The arts transform any subject into a high impact experience, which opens the door for new understanding and embodiment of the work at hand.

At the same time, science and technology are often the subjects of – and inspiration for – great works of art, and a grounding in the science, engineering and technology underpinning their craft can inform and expand an artist’s vision.

NC State LIVE’s InterweaveFEST a Celebration of Interdisciplinary Collaboration

It’s fitting that a recent week-long series of events centered around NOLI TIMERE by Rebecca Lazier, which features aerial dance work set within a custom net sculpture, was dubbed InterweaveFest. The series was hosted by NC State LIVE and brought to light through the collaboration of numerous NC State units and departments.
